I LOVE letting the heifers out to pasture. This is the time of the year when the cowgirl in me gets to come out. While working with the cows, heifers or steers when they are loose, it requires you to read their body language... and in some ways to "think like a cow". I love that part. No, really. I actually DO love that part! When I was younger I use to wish that they would get out of the pasture so we could go gather them all up and put them back into the pasture. However, due to dad's great fence building/mending skills... that rarely happened. Anyways, as of today all the heifers are out in the different pastures. Barn chores are a lot quicker (which is a good thing since outside work increased drastically), and it is beautiful to look outside and see them all grazing. It is a wondrous time of the year.

AuthorHello, if you are a follower of this blog you will remember that Angela was doing the blogs. Well, things have gotten busy for her and so Stan, her dad, is filling in for now. I am not as techno savy as her so I am not sure how this will work but I am going to try and post on a hopefully regular basis. Archives
