Country Cousins Farm was established in 1993 when Stan & Sharon Horning moved to northern NY. Their son Derek and his wife Beth have since joined the family business, which now includes not only the dairy farm but also a farm store and a guest cabin.
Our herd of dairy cows are milked twice a day starting at 4am and 4pm. Daily chores also include feeding milk calves and our heifers and beef steers. The little flock of chickens has a coop right next to the barn and they can often be seen strolling through their enclosed yard.
We raise our own hay and corn to feed the animals. The field work starts in May and wraps up late September when we harvest the corn. If you stop by during the summer months, we will probably be driving tractors to/from/in the fields!
