It is hard to believe that on this date 20 years ago I was on my way, heading north, from Schaefferstown PA to Evans Mills NY. We had loaded all the cows and young stock onto two tractor trailer trucks and we were on our way to our new farm in Evans Mills NY. I was in our pick up truck with a friend from church, Stan High, and we were trying to stay ahead of the cattle trailers so that we would be here at the farm when they got here to unload. We did have a good crew here ready to unload the cattle when the trucks got here. Our friend, Kevin Schmitt, had built a ramp so we could get the cows off of the trailers when they got here. So when the trucks got here we set up the ramp and started unloading the cows. Most of them seemed to be glad to get off the truck and cooperated with us when we put them into their stalls and fed them some hay. It was a long day for the cows, and us, but it was a good day. We are thankful to God for His faithfulness to us in the 20 years that we have been farming here. We moved here hanging onto a frayed shoestring of hope and faith that this was what we were to do and we look back now and can see the many times God has carried us through on our journey so far. We are also very thankful for family, friends and neighbors that have come along side and helped us as we are seeking to fulfill the dream of having our own dairy farm. Who knows how long we will be counting but the first 20 years have been a good experience for us and we look forward to the years to come!

AuthorHello, if you are a follower of this blog you will remember that Angela was doing the blogs. Well, things have gotten busy for her and so Stan, her dad, is filling in for now.
